Yep, a new mod is definitely in progress. Many WTF members including myself (and other non-WTF members) are working on our most newest DFX mod.

And if anyone's curious, yes we've seen these weapons in the game. They look awesome.

I don't wanna move this to the main news since I'm afraid the images will be too big for the template so I'll leave it up to EE/Iceman.

I hope you will consider trimming out some of the decorations that most mappers do not use, such as, the host of sign posts etc.

It will leave more room for innovated items..

were not going to use anything from other Nova games or from other mods, all the SO exclusive items will be in it. except the clowns are being dropped, and the colored motorcycles and buggies.

All the Items Doc donated to SO will be included, so that means the signs stay Ice.

If we get going and run out of non stock slots we will make the mod non stock compatible.

Fair comment Jet...

I know that the skins & models you guys/gals are designing will be terrific.

One thing that does annoy me is buildings that flash when placed on the terrain it maybe one to watch out for.. just a suggestion.

Feel free to ask for any help if you need it, testing etc.

All due respect to Allans Stuff, but, the SOMod is full of a lot of stuff that is never used, and, it takes ages to load, not as bad as the DFM, but almost...

By all means, keep Allans Boxes and Barrels, and the good stuff, but, all those signs never get used, they would free up lots of room..

I'm sure Allan would be the first to dump some of his own stuff, for more useful items.

I have the urge to post a pic or two showing the weapons we've got in-game, but I dunno if I'm allowed to. Just one or two would be good enough, heh.

Did some beta testing with JET last night with the buildings, fortunately.

Good to have Allan/Doc's stuff in this new mod too. :)

And yes, the road signs lol. I don't think I ever saw them in a map. :/

Although the signs are good, some people that map aren't gonna take the time to do road signs. They're just gonna chuck some roads down and say "Yep that's bloody it.". It's just like when people insert buildings in maps, they hardly decorate them.

I'm not saying they will never be used. They might be used, but just not as much as the other items.

I like realism, but you can only place so many items in a map so you need to make compromises I do all the time. slow laggy game or a free flowing game..

Doc items are terrific and I use the more functional items, I have never used the road signs, even thou I like them.

I am not a member of your mod team, but I do agree with EE sentiments

Another suggestion...loose the thermal weapons they are a unnecessary item and a waste of space and time in my opinion.

Skin some of the free models Doc donated(there`s buldings,towers,industrial,pipes..basically a shed load)....Then replace however many sign`s with those finished models.
I`d rather see something of Doc`s used in a map & by the sound of it people would rather have more substantial models.
I`m sure "ALL" the sign`s won`t get replaced but whichever do ,it will be replaced with another "Doc" Model.
Thought`s???

Hopefully I can show one or two more, but that'll be in the future. I've got a good terrain idea which will produce shyteloads of terrains and be a low file size, but I gotta test it out.

includes doors built on, ladders, and stairs, the second building could make a koth center. the brown part on top is a camo net, can see well from both sides.

these extend a meter(not quite but close) below surface with steps just incase its on lightly uneven terrain or on perfectly flat and someone wants to raise it a bit. hope thats what yer talking about Ice.
