TUNNGLE

As you know Novalogic Joint Operations is down for so called maintenance and it is still not back up. (all most 6 days) DFX & DFX2 severs are up and running.

If you want to play AW2 or IC4 or even plain old Joint Ops you can do so using TUNNGLE which is a LAN based program.

I have downloaded, installed and registered and i have enjoyed playing the AW2 game available (THOR & WPK LAN SERVERS) through TUNNGLE with very little lag..

To Download a free version go to the TUNNGLE site:

DOWNLOAD HERE

I recommend this program for LAN play.

Regards

Iceman

Can I host more than 1 JOINT OPS Server with GameRanger at the same time on the same Computer ? No, because GameRanger depends on the .exe to start the Game with while Tunngle don't care how often you start a Game on that Computer that can be started multiple times.

CAN GameRanger DO THAT ? NO = EPIC FAIL !!!

Also, for running JOINT OPS as dedicated Server, you have to add certain things on the shortcut to the JointOps.exe, in order to host as dedicated and in windowed Mode.

CAN GameRanger DO THAT ? NO !!! = EPIC FAIL !!!

Can I just go and play any LAN Game on GameRanger if that Game isn't supported by them ?

CAN GameRanger DO THAT ? NO !!! = EPIC FAIL !!!

Well, so much about the benefits of GameRanger over Tunngle. Next time you state that one program is better for a specific purpose, you better make sure you know all the facts. ;)

Have a nice day.

First of, compared to your blunt advertising of GameRanger in a topic that is clearly ment for Tunngle (dont hijack everything for your advertising of GameRanger), I at least posted facts about that for your so called comparison. Facts that are important because they show that for "properly" hosting JO, GameRanger is not suited because of the reasons pointed above. In single cases for people hosting at home with just 1 Server in Play & Host it might be ok, but thats it.

What facts have you posted about it that are relevant for someone hosting JO ?

And second, you're rude. Maybe a forum Moderator should take a look at that.

@Iceman.

OK now Lets keep the name calling and rude comments to others off this post, and to the post on hand.

" INFORMATION on Tunngle or Game Ranger"

Any other comments that I see in this post that are not related to the post will be removed

THANK YOU

Tunngle VS Game Ranger

Thank you Thor for your comments well said. This site will always support health debate and a differing of opinions as long as it done with respect and courtesy to each party.

OK

Tunggle vs Game Ranger?

I cannot make a comparison on a program I have never heard of or seen it advertised (Game Ranger).

I have seen Tunngle advertised and recommended by two reputable & respected sites and comments from other reputable forums.

I downloaded Tunngle and I found it fairly easy to use once I read a fact sheet from Wofseye forum. (Thanks Wolfeye most helpful).

I found that when I joined servers from Europe or the USA I had very little lag to speak of, ( I am located in South Australia) actually better than using the Novalogic JO lobby and for that reason I advertised it on this site.

I only had one hiccup, is when KiwiKev downloaded it and could not find a LAN game to join when he looked so he will investigate that further.

I am yet to host a server using Tunggle but I will one day in the future.

Regards

Iceman :R

Our WPK Servers are currently not running on Tunngle, but I will see if I can get a LAN Server for AW2 going in the next week on a (again) permanent basis. ;)

Cheers
