Long Target Distance
Here is the situation:
I wanted a group of friendly tanks to start shooting at a far away target when the player stepped into their area. However I could not get the tanks
to shoot at the 800m distant target.
This led to my making another test map to see just how far away I could get one AI to shoot at another. I placed a blue squad mate in a direct line
with an enemy on a flat terrain and I could not get him to shoot at the 450m target. I even tried to force it by using the "Target SSN by SSN" event
but that didn't help either.
Any tips for long distance targeting? Oh and btw, I don't want the guy to run up to the target , just stay in place and shoot far away.

I did a test with "Target SSN by Group,Exclusive" event with friendly ai set to blind first and "gotossn" a tank, put a tank 800m away with 1 ai
in it (couldn't get friendly's to fire on empty tank) set event to "Change AI, Group" Blind 0 when i stood on a helopad it worked good for me
with max attack distance,min/max engage distance all set to 2625 (i think the med uses feet instead of meters for some things) i also had a striker
with evil ai sitting closer than the tank and the friendly ai left it alone. In case the target is destroyed i also set an event "if ssn dead"
change ai back to blind if target is destroyable. hope this helps you get it to work for you.
