DFXMED dialog and enviornment & other problems


i want to put a certain enviornment sound and dialogs but i am a complete neeb with dialogs and sounds.. what do i need to do and/or download?

and..

how can i set it so helicopters are already flying and you are seated?

You need a wac script for the dialogue like the example below:-


if grouparea(1,3) and wavready() and never() then
wave("alph182.wav", 100) ((This is Alpha Team. We have 2 shooters in the tower. Two shooters in the tower))
endif

Also, you can use wac scripts for particular weather effects as well

As for helicopter, use a bot as the pilot. Set the chopper for waypoints and an event for when you hop on board and you should be golden

If you want the helo to be airbourne when you join the game.

You will need to support the helo at the require hight set a pilot to attach to the helo, once the helo has started up and everyone is onboard set the helo to follow waypoints and then destroy the object you had the helo resting on.

Ok, that answers one question but i'm completely confused about the the .wav i want to add, i have a sound i made myself, but i want to make it so i can play it, i have fwo raven's pff utility and dlgedit, could you explain this to me bit by bit because this is actually the first time i have done this and i am really confused >.>

As long as your custom sound is in .wav format, is mono and 8 bit and is put into your DFX directory it will work with a wac.

I hope I'm reading your question correctly :P

As for the helicopter question ... that can't be done unless you're using bots and attach them to the seats.

Do you mean starting attatched to a helo while it was already started? Or about the .wav?

You can attach the player as he spawns..

Place a vehicle, Place the "Player Start", near the position you want the player to take.

Edit the item attributes of the "Player Start" marker, and make the team "Evil (red)"

Once the player has spawned, he will attach to the vehicle, and revert to Blue Team.

This was used in BHD and JO, works with DFX as well.

@ fred, download GoldWave. Open a .wav up, save as, down bottom "PCM unsigned 8-bit mono".
