How?
Hey I was wondering how you get your terrains and what not, that you made in L3DT, to go into the MED for BHD?

Easy....Generate a heightfield in L3DT.Then generate a colour map using that heightfield.
Export both images as bitmap, ping, jpeg, whatever....
Convert & save the heightfield image as an .8 bit raw image in photoshop with a size of(1024 x 1024)pixels
Open the colourmap in photoshop, add an alpha channel to darken, add character to the terrain(ingame)
Then resave image as a 32 bit.tga image(again 1024 x 1024)pixels in size.
Make a tpj file for novas trngen to read from, then using that tpj file,
Run the .raw image through novas trngen to produce a "cpt"(this is the actual terrain contour or shape that you place the colourmap over)
That`s the very basic`s,all you need to do then is edit a current Terrain TRN file, with your own terrain files names.
Place all of those images and the trn file into the games resource .pff....Then you can open your med where your terrain name will be named as an
option for mapping on.
Better still follow this tut before getting into L3DT....

Once you have cracked the tut & produced a few terrains then move
onto L3DT.....Also most heightfields produced by L3DT really need some form of editing in photoshop to produce flat areas for mapping towns/buildings
on...

Yeah, BuLL's right.
L3DT doesn't really produce flat areas in heightmaps, so what I do is generate it, then open it in Photoshop, and alter the brightness of the
heightmap. Therefore, it produces flat areas which look great in the game. There's 1000 other ways of doing flat areas, too.
